About Roley Hills Ag Services and Ben

My name is Ben Kilburn the owner of Roley Hills Ag Services. I am a Roleystone local based just off Brookton Highway. I proudly service the Roleystone and Armadale areas, with my services also extending into the Shire of Serpentine–Jarrahdale, the City of Gosnells, and the City of Kalamunda.

Right now, I offer wood splitting, on‑site firewood processing, whipper snipping, minor tree trimming and limb removal, and tree/shrub purchasing and planting.

The future is bright, and I’m working toward expanding into slashing, verge maintenance, fire breaks on properties under 10 acres, mulching, and other land‑care services.

I’ve always had a green thumb and a love for working outdoors, especially in the Perth hills. My garden is full of bee, bird, and wildlife‑friendly trees and shrubs, and I even keep several bonsai — nature has always been a big part of my life.

My background includes working as a heavy‑duty mechanic, growing up on a hobby farm in Oakford (back when Oakford was mostly dairy country), and serving as a Volunteer Bush Fire Fighter from 1996 to 2006. Having seen bushfires firsthand, I can offer some practical advice on fire season preparedness — including clear zones, fire break requirements, and general property maintenance to help reduce bushfire impact.

Many people move to the hills to escape the city and reconnect with nature. I believe in working with the landscape rather than forcing it to adapt to us, and my services reflect that  philosophy.
